There’s been some scuttlebutt in cyberspace that my volleyball skills are less than exemplary, so let me put that to rest with this photo, a classic from my UC-Santa Barbara days. (To paraphrase an old joke: I didn’t go to college; I went to UCSB.) That’s me about to receive serve, showing steady form and good balance as I pass to the setter. Case closed.
I just glanced again at your “Lofty 5” country list, and saw that South Korea is on your “Lowly 3” list. I’m requesting a blog entry soon that gives the story behind this. I know I’m asking you to put you neck out, but I’m relatively sure you can handle it. As you know I’m planning to teach there this summer, and since I WISH I’d listened to you about India (also on the “Lowly 3”) I at least want to hear what you have to say so you can feel smug afterwards. See what a great friend I am?
